Erin Brockovich joins campaign for Australian Government to review pesticide laws

THE Federal Government is under renewed pressure to protect Australians and the environment from pesticides banned overseas for years. 

More than a year after a News.com.au investigation into the poor state of Australia’s  regulation of
pesticides a coalition of Health, consumer and environmental  organisations are demanding an overhaul of laws, which they say are lagging  dangerously behind other parts of the world.

The groups, including the consumer group Choice, say more than 80 pesticides registered in Australia are no longer authorised in Europe because  of the risks they pose to human health and the environment.
